The IDF said in its X account on Friday that it had found a large quantity of weapons in a compound near the UNRWA headquarters.

The IDF also said troops opened a "special corridor" to evacuate civilians from the area at the start of the operation.

Earlier on Thursday, more than 60 bodies were recovered from the rubble in Shujaiya, a suburb of eastern Gaza City, after a two-week Israeli ground operation.
